ELC- Kevin’s biography
I started hunting at the age of 6 with my dad, brothers, and other family members. At age 6 it was just bb or pellet guns or a 22 rifle and a lot of practice shooting at targets, sparrows, and blackbirds. Then at the age of 10 I proved I was ready to start pursuing whitetail deer, and I was lucky enough to harvest my first whitetail deer at age 10. I’ve been hooked on pursuing Whitetail ever since. In my high school years I competed in some sports, but my real love was the outdoors, fishing, hunting and trapping. My competitive spirt was lifted to new heights when I trained a couple coon dogs for competition hunts and even qualified for a world hunt. My competitive nature lead me to sign up to compete in the Illinois pro-am bass tournaments in 1990. This is where I learned how to read terrain features on maps.
I ordered maps to every lake or river that I had a tournament on. My map reading skills quickly developed to find ledges , points, brush piles, old roadbeds etc. By studying maps and knowing what areas the bigger bass and groups of bass would be, the first year I competed as an amateur, I finished 1st out of 198 competitors. In 1990 my wife and I bought 3 bucks fawns, so I could study and do research which I did for about 1 decade. The knowledge I gained about understanding a whitetail buck from my captive deer herd research and testing, helped increase my understanding of a whitetail bucks by 10 times. That 10 years as I studied my captive deer, I saw my hunting skills and success improve greatly. My hunting accomplishments to me is more about the fact that I have harvested 5 bucks that are 7.5 years old or older. My best 36 Whitetails bucks average 154” and several of them are 5.5 and 6.5 years old. To me the antlers size is not something I can control that much, but matching wits with mature whitetails is a game I like to play now that I figured out how to win more often.
At the same time I was raising the 3 captive bucks, I also started doing small test plots of all types of varieties of seeds and plants. Over the next 10 years, I tested what deer ate in the wild, and I hand picked and fed the captive bucks several varieties. This gave me first hand knowledge of what deer prefer all through the year. I have spent almost 4 decades now testing thousands of soil samples and studying soil nutrition. I have done over 4,000 plant tissues samples to evaluate why deer feed on certain plants and what nutritional value the deer gain from each plant. After 3 decades of research, I became president and co-owner of a seed and mineral company which I ran for 10 + years. I since then have sold my part of this company off, so I could put more time and effort back into testing and finding the answers to the ( WHY’s) in the whitetail world. I have been offering my Elite Land Consulting advice to help map out the direction to build Elite whitetail hunting properties for about 20 + years. I try to only take about 20-30 clients per year because the work I put in to a property and an elite consulting packet for a client takes a lot more than most consultants will do or even know how to do.
Clients Love Us!
We provide an Elite whitetail land consulting advice that builds the best whitetail paradise. What sets us apart from all this rest of the consultants is our results based on our knowledge. We don’t take 50- 80 clients a year , we only take about 20-30 clients a year, and they get our full time and a Elite plan and treatment.

“From my perspective Kevin is one of the best in the business when it comes to whitetail consulting. Kevin works with some of the most successful hunters in the outdoor industry and I’ve been using him on my properties in NE Missouri for the last several years. With Kevin’s help we have transformed my properties to the point that I’m consistently harvesting mature whitetail year after year. I can guarantee that when Kevin steps onto your farm it will only get better for years to come!”

“I have worked with Kevin Boyer over the last several years on improving our properties to make them truly world class whitetail deer hunting destinations. I currently own over 7000 acres of whitetail ground and Kevin has helped dramatically improve the quality of deer on those properties. He has managed the day-to-day operations on the farms for me, including the development of a plan to achieve our long-term goals. He has helped design the layout of the property, placing food plots, bedding areas and ponds in strategic locations throughout the farms. He is very knowledgeable regarding the use and upkeep of all our heavy equipment, which includes bulldozers, excavators, backhoe, tractors of all sizes and all implements… Probably the thing that sticks out most about Kevin is his understanding of soil health and a plant’s nutritional value. When we first started, our food plots were definitely struggling, to say the least. Now our corn and soybeans acres are incredible and our clover and alfalfa food plots look like green carpet!! Kevin’s knowledge and passion set him apart from anyone I have worked with in all my years of managing many different properties. Honestly, I would be lost without him!!”

“Purchased my property about 10 years ago, hunted for over 45 years but mainly in Pennsylvania so I had huge expectations for deer season in Illinois.
I tried to use other people that offered deer/land mgmt. services, with not a lot of success. The first few years were not very successful, plots did not attract or promote the type of deer that I had hoped for. Eventually lucked upon Kevin Boyer while searching on-line – met with him one time and knew he brought more to the game than the others, by far. Kevin came on board about 5 years ago, did my first two plots, each about 1.5 acres. First year had plots with a mixture of winter peas and cereal grains, also had a turnip/radish/collards and clover mixture that really started attracting the deer I was dreaming about. After that initial planting, I started seeing deer on all of my trail cams. Year one of Kevin’s help allowed me to shoot the two largest deer of my hunting history, one in archery, one in gun season. Each year thereafter, I’ve been able to be selective during deer season and only take mature bucks and large does. Since that initial year, I’ve had Kevin back to my property to prepare two more plot sites for me. He has also given me tips on maintaining my existing plots – they are still doing well after 5 years. For those turkey hunters, I’ve got tons of trail cam pictures of flocks of turkeys.
This season was a dream come true – I had the chance to shoot a deer that I’ve been targeting all year. Followed him on my trail cams, coming and going to two of the plots – saw him day 1 of second gun season and took the shot. For me, he is the deer of a lifetime – ended up with one broken tine but he was still the deer of a lifetime – 15-point, double main beam, two hundred lb. field dressed beauty. Pictures are better than words but I would highly recommend Kevin’s services – they have paid out big-time for me.”
